Transferring my money to my growth account. Then it's BACK to FOREX

I have two Forex accounts. One to test strategies and one for exponential growth.
I've tested 4 different strategies with one garnering superior results. A win % greater than 55% and a Profit Factor over 2. So I'm moving my money around so I can trade this strategy in my growth account.
Let's get it!

Transferring money from Canada and Forex rates : wire transfer versus Transferwise

I plan to transfer more than 100000 CAD from India. Indian rupees(INR) to CAD; Indian bank account flat fees+ foreign exchange rate + a flat fee of 15-20 CAD from Canadian bank account. My service fees for both banks are less than 50 CAD ( 1000 INR + 20 CAD + taxes).
Do get a bad exchange rate?YES!!!
Approximately for every 100000 CAD transfers not done through Transferwise I loose 1400 CAD
ICICI Minimal Remittance Service Charge (B) (Inclusive of GST):
Transferwise fees

Some earlier post in this subreddit concluded that for larger sums wore transfer is better. I think not. Please comment

Sending investment money internationally; from USA to Brazil

Does anybody have experience with sending investment money (~$50k-$150k) from the USA to Brazil. What transfer service to use (i noticed that BofA has significantly lower exchange rate from Reuters)?
What would be tax implication to my wife (Brazilian citizen) to receive the money to her account and then use it for real-estate investments?
Would it be more beneficial (from tax perspective) that I (non-Brazilian) open a bank account in Brazil and transfer money to that account from the USA?
Thanks,
MS

Investing while living abroad (American living in Germany)

From my own research my understanding the most efficient way (lowest fees and tax rate) for an American to invest money while living in Germany would be to exchange EUR to USD and then invest it with an investment advisor in the US. If anyone else has experience with this more information would be great as I’ve only done research on this for my personal scenario.
The reason for this is 1) In Germany much of consumer investing is done through banks and much of these excludes Americans due to the difference in accounting system required to file taxes with the IRS. The places where Americans could invest have high minimum thresholds €100,000 for example and higher fees than the US competitors. 2) Foreign Passive Income Companies are broadly defined as any pooled foreign investment and the US can tax these at up to 50%, whereas in the US an investor would only see up to 20% (for long term capital gains, 37% for short term)
This of course excludes currency risk, not a huge risk for me as I’m investing this money for the long term and at this point expect to retire in the US but for others that could be a reasonable risk. Additional challenges are tax compliance but from what I see it is more complicated to perform American taxes with German investments than German taxes with American investments (both will have to be filed anyway as the US requires citizens to file taxes even when living abroad)
My personal strategy is to use TransferWise where I see about a 0.5% loss in the cost to transfer funds and then Vanguard where the fees will be 0.04-0.1% in expense ratio for the investments.

What are the cheapest ways to receive dollar/euro wire transfers?

Wanted to discuss the various options folks have used in the past and the charges.
OFX: Currency broker - 2 percent to 0.5 percent on current USD INR price. Higher the amount, lower the charges. For 15k dollars, it was around 1.4p percent.
Are there Indian banks or currency brokers which are better than this? I have heard about Indian Overseas Bank but haven't tried out

Currency conversion question about Stake and other brokerage platforms that give access to int shares

I'm new to investing in international shares and I have concerns about currency conversion when you buy and sell shares.
Let's use the Stake platform as an example and ignore fees for now. I understand that when I deposit money into Stake, it gets converted from AUD to USD (let's assume at the current rate of (0.72 AUD = 1 USD/1.39 USD = 1 AUD). So I've deposited around $500 AUD which gets converted into $360 USD.
I then decide to buy fractional shares of TSLA for $360 USD and then sell it a few months later for a small profit of 10% ($396 USD) and then transfer that money back to my Australian bank account.
I assume it then gets converted back into AUD. What if at the time I transfer the money back into my Aus bank account the value of AUD has increased substantially relative to USD (eg, $1 USD = $1 AUD)? In other words, that $396 USD gets converted into $396 AUD which means I ultimately made a loss of $104 despite the value of the shares having increased in USD.
Questions:
  1. In my example, am I correct in concluding that even thought I made a small profit from selling my shares in USD, I still ultimately incurred a loss after converting to AUD due to the change in the currency conversion rate? Am I missing something fundamental?
  2. I'm assuming one way to prevent such a loss is to only transfer the money back to your Aus bank account when the currency conversion rate is optimal?
  3. Is this a risk that I just have to cop with any broker if I wish to invest in international shares? In other words, it's not an issue that is unique to Stake.
Any clarification would be appreciated!

Purchasing US stocks, with USD, as an Australian citizen?

Hi guys, I'm looking for an online brokerage which will let me trade US stocks as an Australian. But here's the catch: the ones I've seen (etoro, stake, etc) all expect deposits in AUD, and mark up the forex rates a few percent. I'd rather deposit USD since I have access to a USA-based business checking account in my name, along with excellent forex rates.
Any ideas?

I will be moving abroad and would need to spend a lot of money until I can set up a bank account there. What is the best way to optimize for a good exchange rate and merchant transaction costs?

More specifically, I'll be moving to the UK soon. Unfortunately, to set up a bank account, I'd need to rent a residence and to rent a residence I'd need to spend my money wisely at a good forex rate. To understand the problem more, I did some google-fu and realized that the solution should account for a few things.
- I need to use a service that is / can be attached to my Indian bank and can provide card banking facilities abroad with at a near-wholesale currency exchange rate. I want to avoid using cash-based transfer services there (eg: like what western union is usually used for).
- The service should also have the lowest possible transaction charges applied. Are there services that provide 0% markup on foreign merchant transactions or ATM withdrawals?
The service again, is just a temporary solution until I can set up a proper account abroad. I did discover that a forex card service can be used (Like Makemytrip's HDFC Prepaid), but I'm a bit nervous on understanding how it this actually works or if there's a hidden catch. I hope I can learn more about this.
This community has been super helpful with me so far, so thank you!

BE CAREFUL WHICH BROKER YOU CHOOSE! SERIOUSLY, what is YOUR opinion for LONG-TERM INVESTING using EToro VS Trading 212: Invest ? Or even Trading 212 ISA...

Now, I’ve been practicing with Trading 212 (both investing and trading) for years but didn’t start investing money because I was underage.
DISCLAIMER: When I was younger, I thought day trading was “the way to go” to make a lot of money (for some people it is... for me it really isn’t). I luckily figured this out before I bought some “day trading guru’s course for ONLY $299”... fucking bargain btw👌🤯 ...not
I started actually investing in March, and for whatever reason (can’t remember) I decided to go with EToro...
BE WISE ON WHO YOU CHOOSE !
  1. Let’s start with the NUMBER OF STOCKS.
Trading 212: Invest - 3012 stocks available Etoro - 2037 stocks available
And the stocks that Etoro doesn’t have aren’t just foreign stocks like ones listed on the foreign stock markets like FSE or LSE. They also have US companies “missing”. This becomes very apparent when you find some “great” companies to invest in for the long term and they aren’t even listed.
THIS IS ANOTHER THING - they also dictate who you can invest in. For example, I wanted to invest in Spire Healthcare back in March/April, and even though they have it listed, it won’t allow you buy any shares... STILL TO THIS DAY??? ( if anyone knows why, let me know down below please )
  1. ETFs
Trading 212: Invest - 446
EToro - 151 - although they do have ones like SPY, VOO and VTI
  1. Fees
Trading 212: Invest -
Min deposit - EUR 1, USD 1 Deposit fee - none min withdrawal fee - EUR 1, USD 1 Withdrawal fee - no fees
Commission - commission free, unless you buy UK stocks, then you pay 0.5% stamp duty reserve tax because... the British Government can do what they want 🤷‍♂️
EToro -
Min deposit - USD 200 - first deposit, afterwards USD 50 ( I never even realised this lol )
Deposit fee: none
Min withdrawal amount: USD 30
Withdrawal fee: USD 5
  1. Fractional shares
•Trading 212: invest - as little as €1. MOST BUT NOT ALL shares can be bought fractionally as some have a min trade quantity of 1 share.
•Etoro - min amount to open ANY POSITION is $50, defeats the purpose of fraction shares ???? 🤔
🚨——> Now there are a COUPLE ISSUES with this...
But the main issue is a more PERSONAL ONE.
I’m sick of having to think and buy my family things that don’t want or need for birthdays or Christmas...
So I buy them a share, of a good company that I think is a good investment. Sometimes I DO NOT want to spend a minimum of $50 😂 Call me cheap lol but I’ve got pilot school to pay for... and it’s EXPENSIVE.
  1. MISCELLANEOUS
Now Etoro does have CopyTrading. Personally I’ve never used it because I prefer to have an influence over who I invest in, whether it’s the right choice or not. But for some people, they prefer a more “hands-off” approach, so it is good for them.
ANOTHER POSITIVE FOR ETORO - on their app for each company you can chat with other users, and people can post their latest thoughts and research on the company. Trading 212 doesn’t exactly have this but they do have a similar feature which is a forum separate to the app.
I personally prefer the layout of Trading 212, especially when looking into the graphs, or even trying to find out what your ROI is. It’s a much more user-friendly interface, in my opinion.
Etoro doesn’t offer the ability to transfer open positions to another broker... which is shit. Trading 212 will be implementing the ability to transfer from/to other broker by the end of 2020 (supposedly).
Also, Etoro’s customer service is actually really helpful, with their live chat feature. And doesn’t take too long to connect.
—————————
Just to top it off -
Trading 212: invest - you can get a free share worth up to £100
So IN MY OPINION I would 100% go with Trading 212 for INVESTING, and that’s why I’m switching
I only invest, I DO NOT day trade, use CFDs, swing trade, trade commodities, trade forex or (currently) invest in cryptos
This is why, imo, I believe Trading 212 is better than Etoro
Let me know what your opinions are! Also let me know if I’ve missed anything

About THRILLS CASINO ONLINE

Thrills Casino has been online ever since 2013. The past years have been more than enough for the operator to establish itself as a fan-favourite gambling destination. Over time, the operator has shown that customers are its top priority by providing them with high-quality customer care, excellent bonus offers and user-friendly policies in general. Moreover, Thrills com casino boasts with creativity and uniqueness thanks to its very cool and modern design. All these impressive things pair well with more than 1,400 top-notch gambling games.
Thrills online casino launched as a new and exciting gambling site where players feel appreciated. The first strength of this operator, as well as the most obvious one, is the creative design that features nice colours and several casino mascots. The casino theme is strongly present throughout the entire site. This gives players a sense of belonging as they quickly attach to the mascots and feel more comfortable. A couple of years ago, the operator went through a serious transformation and, as a result, Thrills became a Pay N Play casino. The venue is now a devout promoter of responsible gaming.

BONUSES AND PROMOTIONS

Many web-based operators fail to welcome users appropriately. Sadly, not every operator understands the importance of online casino promotions. But Thrills online casino sure does. Thrills com casino is not your run-of-the-mill casino in a way that it does not offer a Welcome Bonus.
Rumours about the non-existent Welcome Bonus swirled around the web, so we personally reached out to the Customer Support to verify the info. And the truth is that there is no Welcome Bonus for newcomers. This is partly due to the fact that the casino is a Pay N Play casino (i.e. all cash transactions to and from the casino go through Trustly) and partly because it is dedicated to safe gaming.
Moreover, the lack of Welcome Offers does not hinder your experience at the venue. If anything, it strengthens it. The operator cares about your safety, and the fact that they eliminated the Welcoming Bonus means they are a safe place to play at.
That still doesn’t mean that there are no other offers at the casino.
When you become a registered player at Thrills com casino, you will instantly become eligible for a myriad offers that fall into the category of Thrills casino bonuses. BestCasinos.com team made sure to make a sweep of all new Thrills casino bonus codes. You might not need the latest Thrills casino bonus code 2020, but you still get to enjoy Cashback. The best current promo offer at Thrills com casino is the 10% Cashback which you can get every Monday. The formula for calculating Cashback is (bets minus wins (Monday 00:01 – Sunday 23:59 UTC)) * 10%. The minimum amount you can receive as Cashback is €1, while the maximum sum is €1,000. You are always equipped for the best possible experience over at Thrills online casino. As a Pay N Play casino, Thrills online casino always delivers a fast and secure experience.

CASINO GAMES OFFERED

The library is the most important part of an offer at a gambling site. Like all our rated and reviewed venues, Thrills casino features hundreds of gambling games. There are over 1,400 games by several well-established game developers like Microgaming, Betsoft and Play’n GO, plus industry-leader NetEnt powers the site. In other words, players can find a game to suit their taste, regardless whether they prefer exciting video slots, traditional classic slots or creative variants of popular table games. Moreover, the venue features a wide range of live dealer games as well, where players can enjoy an authentic casino atmosphere from the comfort of their home.
A list of the games they offer: Live games, Slots, Roulette, Video Poker, Blackjack, Keno, Scratch cards, Bingo, Pai Gow and dozens of others. Regardless of your preference, this operator will deliver the best quality content that you can find in the industry right now. Popular releases like Reactoonz and Book of Dead are right at the top of the featured list. Piggy Riches, Bonanza – you name it. If you decide to check out the latest releases, just switch over to the New Games tab and enjoy the hottest arrivals to the online gambling scene.

BANKING METHODS

In September 2018, Thrills switched to a Pay N Play casino. This means all banking is handled via Trustly through your online bank. When you visit the site, you will instantly get an option to deposit your chosen sum via this banking method. The lack of other payment methods might be off-putting, but we assure you that it is not a problem. Pay N Play casinos (Trustly-powered operators) are safe, easy to navigate and boast speedy transactions.
